What do members of a Vela Microboard do?

• Spend time with the person, be a friend.
• Help plan, with the person, create supports and possibly arrange for the delivery of services.
• Be responsible for recruiting staff if accountable for direct services.
• Ensure that the person has the opportunity to both receive from and give to the community, other individuals and their circle of friends.
• Ensure that a person centred planning process is completed identifying the person's hopes for their life.
• Advocate on behalf of the person for whom the Microboard is set up.
• Ensure that the person's quality of life is enhanced and fulfilling.
• Have regular meetings to review the person centred plan.
• Ensure that the person's needs and wishes continue to be addressed.
